Ben Queen is a lifelong resident of Harrison County.
He was born February 7, 1995 and attended Harrison County public schools. With a keen interest in business at an early age and with the support of his teachers, Ben started his first on-line company, Ben Queen Photography, at age 12. At the age of 14, he was a regular freelance photographer for the Clarksburg Exponent-Telegram and The Bridgeport News.
He was recognized as the “Young Entrepreneur of the Year” by the Harrison County Chamber of Commerce. In 2013, he was one of five national finalists for “National Young Entrepreneur of the Year” – a scholarship program hosted by the National Federation of Independent Businesses.
At 19, he is one of the youngest ever recognized for the “40 Under 40” program sponsored by WV Executive Magazine. Ben is the chief photographer for Connect-Bridgeport and a freelance photographer for USA Today, USA Today Sports, Connect-Clarksburg and the WVU Athletic Department. His photographs have appeared in numerous national and state publications including Sports Illustrated, New York Times, the Washington Post and the Charleston Gazette-Mail. To date, Ben has had more than 4,000 photographs published in print and on-line media outlets.
Today, Ben’s company specializes in freelance photography and social media strategies for clients all over North Central West Virginia.
Ben is currently a senior at West Virginia University where he will graduate with a degree in Business Management.
